Warmooge

Warmooge is composed of war (“news, information”) and mooge (“ignorant, unaware, absent”). It translates to “one who is unaware of news or information.” Traditionally, it is a descriptive name for someone who is hardheaded, stubborn, or unheeding, a person who ignores advice, warnings, or important information while behaving as if they are oblivious to what is being told to them. Similar to the name Odawaa, Warmooge can also be given to a child who lost a parent or survived a tragedy during infancy or prior to birth, symbolizing someone who is literally unaware of the tragic news surrounding them. This reflects a cultural practice of naming children based on the circumstances surrounding their birth or early life.
